Thus
speaks a tree that has been killed:
They
uprooted me. There was a murderous glint in their eyes. Pulled me out with wild
enthusiasm. My spine, my main trunk snapped. My lungs shattered and dusted. My
leafy head grounded. My fingers, my branches, chopped off. But my legs, my
roots, had the sky to look forward to. So I pushed my roots into the sky. That
would be my earth now. And they can’t rob me of it. Because my roots will grow
into the invisible airy fibers. A reverse tree in this steely straight world.
Or a straight tree in an upside world. Choose what you prefer to say it. But
I’m a floating one definitely. I can just go like a cloud from place to place;
laughing at human follies. Sad for them; joyful for myself.
